Resolutions…

Every year I make new resolutions and every year I break them. (In fairness think that there is a crazy statistic that 90% of of resolutions are broken by the first week or month). I don't want another goal I may not reach… I'm not into cyclical behavior. I'm going to do something different and hopefully less gay.

I just turned 28. I'm 28.2 actually. Bummer age for me. My life is good, I have a loving family and really great friends (blah, blah, blah) but I'm not happy to be in my late (gulp) twenties. I really do believe that I'm where I'm supposed to be and at the risk of screwing with the whole "life path" too much, I'm going to set a rather ambitious resolution.

I want this year of the 2 - 8 to last. You can totally eat it twenty nine.

Every week I am going to do something new. Something that I have never done. Something simple or something dramatic. It could be totally boring, like learning to crochet, or completely interesting, like splitting an atom. At the end of the year I will have 52 new wrinkles in my brain. 52 new things that I can talk about with some deal of authority. 52 things with which I can bore Troy with ad naseum.

And Troy is as excited as any dude can be when his lady is dragging down a path of certain doom. "Just because it's new doesn't mean that it is good." That is his motto.

AND, I guess we can make this experiment interactive. I'm going to post everything new that I do here in my blog. YOU can give me ideas for what I can do. Books, movies, restaurants, bands to hear/see, places. The list goes on. It will be fantastic. I'll take pictures and you can be utterly bored with me by March.

Good luck to you with your resolutions and I'll keep you up to date on mine
