So, I've been crazy busy and the last thing that I want to do is sit in front of my computer after a long day at work for another hour or four to click-click-click at the keyboard. But really, that's just a cover for being crazy lazy. Then I realize, that the only way that some of you know what's going on with me is if I click-click-click.
And my memory is crap. Pure crap. And this is the only way that I'm going to keep my shit straight when it gets worse. So lets go…
Thursday, 7/7/07: NYC: Electric 6 on Party Boat
So those of you playing at home might be counting that this is actually the 3rd or 4th time that I've seen E6 this year. And you would be so right! Tre is psychotic! But I promised her that if she didn't take the bus to Pittsburgh to hang out with some random dude (who probably has a foot locker full of doll heads at the foot of his bed) to see E6 there, then I would go to see them in NYC on this boat.
It was actually pretty awesome. This was the day after that huge pipe blew up new Central Station. We stayed kind of close to there in mid-town, actually in Hell's Kitchen/Garment District. That didn't stop my pop-pop from telling EVERYONE within listening distance of his front porch about it. Our neighbors back home know more about us than I do.
Anywho, we drove to NYC from Frackville on Thursday morning and we only got lost once (Fuck you 16E. You make no sense) - but that was enough to turn me into a into a raging Biotch and I'm really happy that Tre and Troy didn't leave me on the side of the road.
Here are a load of pictures from the trip.
This is Tre starting to loose her shit when we saw the dock. She drank Red Stripe all night. We have her broken of Coors Light.
Here is our boat at dock and the line of people waiting to get in.
It just rained before we left. I when I say rain, it was of biblical proportions. Luckily the sky cleared and everything was beautiful.
Here are two pictures of Manhattan. The boat left from 44th St, down the Hudson to the Statue of Liberty and then back. it was about 4+ hours. I would be lying if I didn't go over in my mind incessantly what to do if that sucker sunk.
Here is my over photographed boyfriend.
Yep, that's the statue in back of him. Here's a better one of our girl Liberty. She looks competely different in person and all I could do was wish that she would come alive like in Ghostbusters 2. It also made me kind of sad because she's built like a brick shit house and I women are no longer prized for that.
E6 started rocking right about the time we passed this lovely lady. They played on the first floor in front of the dance floor. We sat on the steps going up to the second floor. It was pretty crazy to be around that many people who are nuts for them, but it was a really great show and the vibe was great.
Here is what it looks like when my camera takes boring photos.
This is the bar that we went to after the show. It was pretty cool and non smoking which was awesome for me. Not great for Tre. Across the street they had $1 pizza and sleeping bums.
This guys was on the wall.
The next day we walked around. There are so many people - everywhere. I've been to many cities up and down the coast, but I've never seen a crowd like this. Here is a crappy shot:
We had more pizza. This is kind of like my Nut-Kicking-Chicken for those of you lucky enough to have had it. It was soo good.
Here are some more pictures of Times Square.
I drank this whole jug. She made me a bigger size than I ordered.
There are all these camera shops in Times Square. This camera was in one of the windows. It's ridiculous.
Times Square really is like a Disney Theme park now. Bells and whistles, lights and flashes everywhere. I felt safe, but I'm curious what I missed out on when a hooker could have knifed me out in the open.
This is the view from our hotel room. Yep, they are train tracks. It was still one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in and probably the cleanest.
This is where our car was parked. The dude couldn't drive stick and probably took a year off the life of my clutch. But he was nice and this is just funny. My car is on the second row from the right, top shelf. Hilarious.
I can see why people fall in love with the city and I do think that it has a pulse. I don't think that I would ever want to live there but I am excited for our next trip.
E6 was awesome as usual. They never have a bad show really. I recommend them - but mostly because Tre will be dragging me again to Philly for a show in October and it would be nice to see some new faces there.
Here is Tre with the drummer who is always pretty cool.
CREATIVITY - I see you!
So, I don't know what day of the week that I made this stuff but here are two new things that have come directly piping hot from my hands.
First is this camera case. It has a matching wristlet on the camera. Unfortunately, it's on my camera so I can't take a picture of it. It's made from a tie and it's cute. CUTE. I love it and I feel more comfortable taking my camera with me than I did before. I finagle a way to get a picture of it all together somehow down the line.
This is a picture of the pasta and sausage we made later that same week. This is actually me eating it the next day at my desk.
It was great when it was fresh but it was better the next day. Then it was FUCKING MIND-BLOWING! Yumyumyumyumyumyum! Again, I got it from that big, beautiful Home and Gardens book my Nana got for me for x-mas. It is stupid easy to make:
Cook:
4-5 rings of sausage - sweet, hot or mild
2 peppers - green, red or yellow
2 cloves of garlic
in a pan until peppers soften and sausage is cooked through
Add:
4-6 ounces of broth - chicken or vegetable
Toss with:
8-10 ounces of cooked pasta - bowties, rigatoni, wagon wheels.
Like everything I make it is overly easy and interchangeable. That means I can't screw it up.
That's it kids. One more week down. And my ass hurts so much from sitting here, that I'm at a terrible loss of something clever to say to finish.
