Thursday, March 27, 2008: Weston House: Tiramisu
Troy's birthday extravaganza started on today. We went to his parent's house for dinner and his mom made this yummy tiramisu.
Being totally opposed to all things coffee, I have been dodging tiramisu for years. I heard it all before, on every trip to La Bella's, "It's so great! Why don't you eat some!" Because it is gross, that's why. Now, shove some Italian cake soaked in amaretto and I'll stuff that in my gob before the plate hits the table.
But, it was the holiday known as Troy's birth and I was desperate for something new.
What convinced me was the mini chocolate chips.
And, it was extraordinarily pretty.
Troy seemed to dig it.
This part was yummy.
The coffee soaked cake was good, but not something I would go for ordinarily. I did eat most of it but then got really full (probably from all of the lasagna I inhaled shortly before hand).
I don't know that I will ever order it in a restaurant, and Troy can pretty much kiss my can if he thinks I'm ever going to make it, but for the chore that newness sometimes is - this was a bit of alright.
