I was pressed for something new to do today, and it was a Thursday in the middle of winter. Boring.
Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008: My Kitchen: Roasted Pairs.
I'm sure that there is probably a really good recipe out there for something like this, but I just winged it and made something up.
I cut two pairs in half, sprinkled them with 1 tsp. of brown sugar each and then baked until they fell apart. When I pulled them out of the oven I sprinkled them with a few glazed walnuts.
Yum. Very tasty.
I splashed a little milk on mine because I thought it was missing ice cream. And I can't have ice cream because I took this damn dirty vow of reduced calories.
In the future, I would probably dot it with a little bit of butter to help with the carmalization of the sugar. And maybe a little bit of vanilla or cinnamon. Very good for an afterthought. BTW, I put this in when we sat down for dinner. I would probably put it in a little bit earlier next time.
