In an effort to make my life easier in the future, for just once, we put away the xmas lights in a new and utterly exciting way. As exciting as possible for such a crap task.
This year, like every year, a good hour of us decorating our lovely, lovely tree was trying to remember what the fuck we did last year. I, as you might know, have a memory that is slightly better than Luke's. Just barely. And Troy's new found memory only pertains to what kind of chicken I made in on a Wednesday sometime in 2005.
Assuming that the end of days does not come before next xmas, we wrapped the lights and labeled them. I'm a fan of labeling, although I don't have a labeler and know one thought of buying me one for xmas. I did get a rad nail gun - 4 of them actually!
Super simple label. Afterward I thought that I should have probably named them, like "Light String Amy," "Light String Bob," but it's probably better that I don't get attached.
Then I wrapped the tag around the wires.
So easy. This should save me some much needed sanity in November.
For the outside light, we tried a new technique I found on Lifehacker. Turn a chair upside down, use legs to wrap cord in figure 8 style. Hopefully this works, although I'm kind of holding my breath a little.
Here is the end result.
And, yes, my life is endlessly fascinating. But what do you want for a Wednesday night?
