So, I was really busy getting ready for Christmas and actually living through Christmas. I don't really have anything new or exciting to post about. That is sad yes. This is all I've got.
Monday, 12/24/07: Nana's House: Guitar Hero
My sister and her boyfriend are currently addicted to Guitar Hero like most of the youth in the nation this year. Nick brought his Playstation and Guitar to my Nana's on Xmas Eve. We had fun. I can see why people get addicted.
Here are pics of me and Tre playing. We kinda suck, although Tre sucks less than me. Nick is awesome at it and can played hard songs on hard levels. He also hogged the guitar a little, but in all fairness it sucked to watch myself play so I can only imagine how sucky it was to watch someone that wasn't very good play.
Troy is uninterested in playing and/or watching. He said that our faces look too intense and he doesn't want any part of it. I can see his point. We still rock SuperMario1 now and then, and that is good enough.
Friday, 12/28/07: Zenos: Drinks with Covey
I met Troy's friend from high school Covey on Friday. It was a pretty good time but I had a Victory Hopedevil IPA and it was most shitty. Just, ew. I want to like IPA's - I'm just really unsuccessful at it. If you have an IPA that will not suck, let me know below.
Here is Troy and Covey. I also met one of Covey's friends Chris who lives in Bellefonte. He got a little uneasy when we started talking about politics, even though we were all saying the same thing.
EXCEPT I think that civilization could use a good plague, like hepatitis C or zombies. I don't know if they saw my point or just kind of think I'm a lunatic. Either way…
I saw a blogger name Not Marth make this hand sign before. It's "OLD" as in "We are took fucking old to be here."
Me.
Sunday, 12/30/07: Garage: Fiberglass and Radios
I've been working on this stereo forever and I think that you may remember my call for parts of the summer. Thanks to Mark for the speaker. It worked awesome. And that to Troy for finding the amp on ebay for $10. I've been working on it since atleast September.
Here are some initial photos from the way back. I didn't take photos of it before I took it apart because I'm good like that.
This is it in pieces. I am impressed that I kept all the screws and small pieces organized for future assembly.
Close up of the AM radio dial. This will no longer be functional and will only be for show. The whole shebang is only going to be used for our iPods.
The old frame before I sanded and painted. I think it is copper.
Close up of the broken down dial. Troy got it for free from someone on a Truck forum. Unfortunately one of the buttons was broken during shipping. Even so, I am very grateful that we don't have a gaping whole in our dash. And even worse, a modern radio.
Troy helped me put this bad boy together and here are the steps.
This is the donor speaker from Mark. He saved our project for sure.
We drilled a hole into the plate where the guts were once screwed (This is where the radio was).
This is Troy showing me how to wired this. Even though I am a great electrician here at the house, and have rewired many a lamp, I am lost at auto wiring. Troy was unaware.
Here is the speaker and amp connection. I can't explain what a pain in the ass this was. The speaker is magnatized, so using a metal socket wrench was a pain in the ass. It kept getting stuck. We also had to test the sucker to make sure we hooked it up correctly. We did.
Luckily, we had pre-existing holes so no need to drill.
The monster afterwards. Troy is going to find tabs to cover the holes left by the nobs that we didn't need. The only thing that you will see are the keys and dial. The wire for the iPod will come down from behind the dash. I will upload a pic when it is installed, but at this point we really can't figure out how it attaches.
After that I buckled and helped Troy sand. It really was the last thing that I wanted to do because I believe that sanding is one of the circles of hell. I found out that I am a master fiblerglasser. I know my way around some spackle. Or I could have just been really high from inadvertently huffing fiberglass fumes.
Cab after 2nd coat of fiberglass.
Monday, 12/31/07: Philly: New Years Eve
Our friend John was in from Cali, and we haven't seen our friend Mike in months and months, so we took a trip to Philly. It was pretty awesome. I apologize to anyone that I drunk texted.
I did all kinds of new stuff, the least of all ringing in the New Year in Philly. We went to the same bars we always go to: Tattoo Moms and Rays Birthday Bar. We had varying results. Here are some pics.
We started out at Momma's and then went to a friend Casey's friends house. These are her dogs.
This is her roommates belt buckle. I've never seen anything like it, but I covet it…hard.
Then we went to Ray's Birthday Bar. It is something else.
This is Captain Jesse's Seafood. I can't even count the number of times that I've walked past this building. This time, I took a picture.
We decided that it was a bummer and we went back to Mom's. They were having free tacos and who doesn't like free tacos.
These are mine. They also have these little pretzels with peanut butter on the inside. I am so in love with them.
We got our picture taken by our waitress because we kicked ass as a table. Here it is.

Here is our table.
Some drunk chick accosted Casey. She wasn't excited.
I drank so much Hooegarden.
I drew a lot of these.
I don't look awesome in this, but my old man does.
Well, I leave part 2 of my stay in Philly, New Years Day until my next post. These should get you through until then.
I am going to do a year end retrospective type thing as well as add some things that I never talked about. AND THEN there are plans for the new year that are under way. And a contest, kind of maybe. Maybe a give away. Maybe not. I'm not sure. 2008 is the year on confusion! And over planning as far as I can tell.
